The Compaq Aero 1500 Series Mount System is comprised of two components, the cradle and the mounting bracket.

Credle and Mounting Bracket

The cradle is comprised of an injection molded front and an aluminum back plate. The molded front has the serial data connector set into the bottom so that by inserting the 15XX into the cradle it connects to the serial data cable. Within the bottom of the cradle is a space for the interconnect cable which has room for up to a nine conductor cable. We also have installed a ferrite bead for RFI suppression.  We have incorporated a ball bearing detent that snaps into one of the holes in the back of the Palm-PC to hold it in place.

Mounting Bracket

The mounting bracket is made up of  an arm with a ball and socket connector at both ends. The plate mounts in a 57mm cutout with the interconnect cable passing through the mounting plate via a panel mounted coupler.

The on/off switch is accessible through the cradle.
